How to remove broken male pipe inside female pipe??

In replacing showerhead, the pipe broke off and part of the threads are still inside the female. I have tried an internal nipple wrench - to no avail. It won't break it loose. I would like to remove the remaining male section w/o having to cut into drywall. Please help!!

See if you can locate an 'easy-out' at a hardware or auto parts store. Worst case, take a small hacksaw blade & carefully cut through the remaining male threads (w/o cutting the fitting they're in) and tap/fold it over with a screwdriver.

BTW, all the broken shower arms I've come across have been made of plastic.

cutting the piece out is probably gonna be what you have to do

i have seen many metal shoer pipes break when they are very old and had hardening pipe dope used on them
