Banging Pipes in Laundry Room
Hi Forum, just want to say thanks for the help this site has provided me, but I have another quick question
Quick question; I did a search but still have a question. I installed a New Wall mount washing machine connection with plumbing back to the sink but did not put a "Air Break"...now the pipes are banging when the washing machine is in use. So should I:
Cut the drywall and install the breaks before the Washing Machine connection....PITA!
Since the Laundry room is in the basement the pipes are accessable...could install a break before the plumbing drops to the sink and washing machine.
Or maybe draining the system might solve the problem?
Thoughts, the banging is driving me crazy!!!!
Thanks

Well, I spoke to soon...the banging is back...it almost sounds louder. Any other suggestions? Could it be the actual washing machine? Anything I could check there? It’s a newer front loader but used from My father in law. Actually when I got the unit it would not drain....he thought putting a 10 year old rug in the washer was a good idea. It fell apart and clogged the drain...easy fix and a nice washer
