Question Digging a hole in a concrete foundation

I've heard that digging a hole in the foundation is not a good idea, as there are some tension wires that can be broken in the foundation. Making any holes would need to be done by foundation experts.

Thank you, LadySavingMoney

Most foundations are poured with simple rebar or steel mesh. Cutting a trench will not affect the structure of the house or the slab.

There are some foundations which use tensioned wires... if you're "lucky" enough to have a slab like this, you do need to be careful to not cut through the tension cables.

Do you know that you have one of these slabs/foundations?
