Installing under the counter kitchen sink
Looking to resurface an existing mica kitchen counter. Will need to remove and re-install the sink. The sink is installed from the bottom of the counter and is secured by a "hootie rim" whick has alip on the surface of the counter. Assuming that I alone will be removing and re-installing the sink, any advice as how to hold the sink in place during removal and re-installation? Any support structure ideas?
Thanks Handydandy.

One way is to lay a 2x4 across the countertop and wire it to the drain. If the drain assembly is already removed, use a bar clamp. Just be careful not to over tighten and deform the bowl.

Kitchen sink removal and re-installation
Thanks for the feedback, good solution-was thinking about a similar solution for the removal phase. However, the re-installation is a greater problem. Need to support the sink - lift it in place, as I re-attach it to the rim clamps. Might have to lift it in a similar manner, attach a secure rope to the drain opening along with a 2x4 brase and lift it up in place?? Any thoughts??

Take the drain assemble out and place 1" by from underneath. Use "eye" hooks at each end and string picture wire at angle to upper 2x4 to create a stable "V" to support each side of sink.
How heavy is this sink?
CaryMan
Use shims under 2x4 to apply pressure at needed time and place.
