Pex to Copper

Hello,
I'm roughing in for some additional baseboard heat. My question is, if I use the copper stub-out elbows, crimp on my pex then come back and sweat the fin tube onto the copper elbow, will sweating that close to the pex damage it?
If there is another way to rough-in and avoid this, feel free to share.
Thanks in advance for your input.

If I ever have to sweat close to pex I wrap it with a really wet rag but I wouldn't recommend it.

Do the soldering before you connect the PEX.

The only thing I can recommend if you are trying to rough in is to leave enough pex stubbed through wall to make the connection later. The trick will be leaving enough pex stubbed out that you can connect to it AFTER you sweat the copper on AND still be able to push that pex back into the wall enough to position the baseboards into place.
