PEX. Is crimping or expanding better?

I have been plumbing many projects with PEX for a few years. I'm not a licensed plumber.

I have been using Crimp fittings with my PEX applications and am considering a switch to the expander tool. Is this a good idea?

Can anybody discuss the benefits of switching? I have been waiting due to the cost of the expander tool, but maybe now it's time to pick up a used on on Ebay.

Thanks for the replies.

I don't use PEX, but from what I can tell, the fittings are less restrictive with the expansion method (ID of the fittings is same size as the pipe).
