Sump Pump running constantly when water below threshold
I have a 2-year old Sump Pump (zoeller) that is running almost constantly even when the water level is only an inch off the surface of the bottom. The floater isn't elevated at all. I don't know much about them, but the only thing I find peculiar is the water I see "squirting" thorugh 4 or 5 streams on each side of the pump. But I'm not sure what's causing it to run other than a general product defect. I've attached a picture of what I see... Hoping someone can give me some advice or ideas. Thx!!!

Since it is when the float drops that the pump is to cut off, that maybe the float (you can see it, including the rod, to the right of the discharge pipe) can't drop far enough without hitting the bottom of the sump pit. We'll have to see when he does your suggestion, Shacko, if he can bottom out that float, or if the floart itself first bottoms on the floor or sludge, at the base of the pit first. If that is happening he will have to adjust the float up higher or raise the pump higher, and recut his discharge pipe and Fernco it.
BUT - The fact it was likely working properly in the past, makes me wonder either about sludge at the bottom, or a corrosion where the arm meets the pump. It's possible it coul be the switch inside also.
