running gas line to garage

I need some help with the routing of a gas line from my basement to my garage. I posted in the garage heater area but this may have been a better forum. Thanks for any advice.

I don't see any problem running it exposed but local codes can differ. You might want to ask a local plumber.

Make sure the gas pipe isn't somewhere that it could be run into with a car, that's the only potential issue I see. Any gas appliance needs to be protected by bollards (a pain in the ... if you have to have them installed). If it's at the top 4' of the wall, I'm sure it won't be a problem.

I'm sure you could 'volunteer' to box it in with 2x4s and drywall if the inspector has a problem with it, though I doubt it would be an issue.
