Replace Basement Floor Drain

The previous owners of my house filled the basement floor drain with concrete in hopes of plugging it up. Water still comes up either around the drain or up through the pipe and floods the basement. I have tried to remove as much concrete as I can but it still won't drain very well. I was wondering if it is feasable to bust up the concrete from the floor drain to the sump pump(approximately 10 feet) and install a new drain that drains into the sump. I am not sure where the current drain drains to but it doesn't go to the sump, possibly to an exterior drain tile system.

You should be able to do what you propose, but make sure you cap off the existing floor drain pipe.
