Need Help removing a garbage disposal

I am replacing an old KitchenAid unit and cant get the
sink flange and the mounting rings underneath the sink to
come off. The design is not quite the same as the newer units and I am stumped. Any suggestions??

I am not familiar with that specific type but when I run into heavily corroded mounting brackets, I have had to cut and or chisel to get them off .

Broken Main Shutoff valve

I recently left my home up in North country. I shut off the water at the main valve. It just shut and something broke. The handle and the shaft I can see are turning, but something broke inside. Are Valves repairable without unsoldering? The valve is 3/4 inch and says Blue Line on the side. Thanks

CPVC vs Others?

Does any one know the life time of cpvc compared to other types such as copper or galv for water supply and waste lines? I've heard rumors that the glue used to join the sections will break down. Doesn't sound right to me but I'm no expert. I've used cpvc more than the rest and seems pretty fool proof. Can it be used everywhere? (for drains, supplies to and from water heaters, bath - stool, sink,...) Thanks for the help!
