Irrigation valves leaking

I just installed a sprinkler system control box and the 1" Hunter valves are leaking. The leak appears to be where two sections of the valve body are attached with screws. The screws are tight. I am clueless. The leaks range from the worst of about one drop per second to barely a seep.

Without knowing what valve you have all I can do is guess.

You warped the housing tightening the screws, if thats where the diaphram goes it may be bad or have a nick on it, sorry.

Thanks Shacko

These are Hunter valves that are labeled PVG I think. I did not tighten the screws, just checked see if they were loose. I talked to a sprinkler pro today and he lamented that there is a lot of poor quality coming out of China. I can return these and try something else. Thankfully, my manifold has unions so the dis-assembly is pretty easy. Thanks again for your help.
