Deodrant stick was flushed... vanished!

Ughhh, last night after taking a wizz, i accidently hit a stick of deodorant into the toilet. Thinking it would float and not actually flush, i waited until the flush stopped only to see the stick vanish into the toilets drain.

i forgot.....

is my only option sticking my hand in?

put a bag over my hand and I couldnt get it in to see if i could even feel the deodorant

No Hot Water Kitchen

:wall: I am new to this forum and semi new to plumping. My question is this, I had a kitchen faucet go bad (when using the faucet the flow was bad however when using the hose it was fine for hot and cold water), reviews I read said this happens pretty often with that model. When trying to fix the bad model i turned the hot and cold water off from under the sink. When I turned it back on the cold water was still fine, but the hot water does not get hot and is very low flow. I replaced the whole unit today. This fixed the flow issue the old one had, however still no hot water. I read something might be stuck in the line? etc, however what makes me think this might not be is the hot water was fine until I did something under the sink... Thanks in advance!Read More

Mysterious basement floor pipe connected to upstairs toilet

We just moved into a 23 year old home. I noticed that in the basement there is a 2 ft. piece of 1/2" black (ABS?) pipe sticking out of the basement cement floor. Stuffed in the end of the black pipe is another 3/16" clear flexible tube that leads to an upstairs bathroom toilet. The tube is tied in with T-connector to the filler tube in the toilet. The basement pipe is in the furnace room about 3 ft. from the floor drain where the A/C condensation pipe drains. This leads me to believe it has something to do with flushing a trap associated with the floor drain. I am changing the toilet and need to know if I should maintain this setup or if I can get rid of the filler tube T tied into the basement floor pipe or if it serves some sort of purpose.
