Very Strange Problem

The cold water tap in the bathroom comes on by itself. We will be sitting in the living room and hear water running and the bathroom tap will be on. This is not a drip, it is a steady stream and takes an 1/8 to a 1/4 of a turn to shut it off. We live in a rural area and have a jet pump set at 20/40 pressure with a pre-charged 30 gallon equivalency water tank, the tank is set at 17-18 pounds pressure which is recommended. I would like to know how to resolve this problem or are we just haunted by ghosts? Thank You. Pat Fox

Cool

Turn the water off, pull the cold water faucet stem, and replace the rubber washer on the end of it.
Check the seat down in the faucet with a flashlight to make sure that it is not corroded while you're at it. Good Luck!

Pat,I would change the stem (cartridge)and go from there.I belive Moen has is a lifetime warranty, you can give them a call or give Home Depot a call and see if they will honor the warranty, they are good like that.Good luck Dave
