Tailpiece into P-trap too far?
Hi all,
I have a small leak coming from somewhere underneath a newly installed bathroom sink. I noticed the tailpiece goes a few inches down into the p-trap, although not all the way to the bottom. Could this be my problem?
Why is it suggested that the tailpiece only be 1 or 2 inches into ptrap? I am not understanding why it matters, as long as it fits into the p-trap. What am I missing?
Thanks!
-Steve
