We redid our guest bath and I finally got around to replumbing the sink. I left all the drain stuff in place and we were reusing the old vanity top so everything lined up fine (a little higher, but I got a tailpiece extension). So I screw it all together and test it -- I got a very slow leak up under the metal flange nut that holds the p-trap together. It did not seem to bind and felt like a good seat. I tried teflon compound on the threads and it still leaks (above the threads up to the nut, which is why the sealer did not work. ABS is tough to find around here, so I'm hoping for another solution to try. Thanks.

I'm winterizing a 3 season cabin and I need to re route some water supply piping inside a wall, then go accross the ceiling and down the other side of the wall to the kitchen sink. I'll cover the pipes where they go across the ceiling with a pine chaseway. We have a very deep well and the water is quite cold. during summer on the warm days, the toilet sweats quite a bit. I added an anti sweat mixing valve to solve that problem. it works great! Should I be concerned that the cold water supply pipe will sweat like that inside the walls and chaseway leading to all sorts of problems? or will the limited amount of air inside the wall and chaseway mean I shouldnt have sweaty pipes in there? the only thing I can think of doing to prevent this would be to insulate the pipes with poly pipe insulation. that would be fine inside the wall, but would mean my chaseway across the ceiling would be about double the depth drop from the ceiling. I don't mind doing that if you folks think its necessary? I plan to use 1/2" PEX if that matters? Thanks,
