Exclamation Dripping fire sprinkler heads

I have a fire sprinkler system installed in my house and have several heads dripping an oily substance. Is this a sign that I will eventually see water dripping and need to do something?

It's a sign that you should call a licensed fire protection company (perhaps the original installer) to come out & look at it. It may just be that s couple heads just need replaced, but please leave that to a pro.

To further Steve's comments, your insurance carrier will require a licensed repair person to perform the fix. Hopefully the oily substance is from the thread sealing compound, but don't take any chances.
