Is CCPVC quieter than PVC?

I'm building a new house. Is cellular core PVC DWV pipe quieter than solid PVC? I hate hearing the sound of water flowing down through the DWV pipes when someone flushed a toilet upstairs and I'm in the kitchen or family room. My old house (built 1963) had cast iron DWV pipes, which were very quiet. I'm not expecting CCPVC to be as quiet as cast iron, but is it a noticeable improvement over solid PVC?

There won't be much noise difference in the PVC. If you have problems with water running in the pipes, now is the time to plan on insulating them for sound. I have never had a problem with water in drain pipes, but as you get older your hearing goes bad, anyway.

You have two choices, you can insulate the pvc or run cast iron for your main drains and pvc for your vents.
