Maintenance for Y strainer
Hello,
Last year I had a Pestige boiler installed. I switched over to gas from oil. Because of the old type cast radiators and pipes my heating guy and I agreed to put in a "Y" type strainer to catch any debris that might become loose. I would like to inspect and clean the "Y" strainer if any debris did collect. Can any of you give me a detail description on how to clean the "Y" strainer? I appreciate any help you can give.

If you have valves that isolate the strainer all you have to do is shut them and pull the strainer out and clean it off (the strainer is in the wye looking down).
If you don't have valves it becomes more complicated, without knowing the layout of you piping it's hard to say.
I left a picture so you know what I'm talking about
