Question

My husband I put a new wax seal on our toilet and put it all back together and now the parts around the shutoff valve up to the back of the toilet , something is leaking. We think it is where the pipe comes out of the toilet and connects to the shutoff valve pipe. What should I do to fix that without taking the whole toilet back up? (It's one of those older toilets, I guess from around 1975).

My guess is it is leaking where the supply attaches to the toilet. Turn the water off flush the toilet then take the supply loose where it attaches to the toilet put some pipe dope on the threads and retighten. Pipe dope and teflon tape are good friends when putting pipes with threads together.
