How about a Fernco
Instead of a rigid 22 or 45 you might consider a Fernco. It offers better fitting options.

Agreed, cut the trap off at the wall (leaving as much pipe sticking out of the wall as possible). Bring the photo and the discarded trap to your local plumbing or hardware store and ask for help. 
They will help you find all the pieces needed to hook it up. You can use either cemented fittings (like you have here), or it will likely be easier to use slip connectors where you just hand tighten each.
