Shower drain pipe size?
I've been using mainly 2" pipe and that's also what my plumber used for a shower addition years ago. A 2" P-trap is going to be a problem for me in a number of ways. Can I get away with 1 1/2"? Is that enough water volume for a shower?

No I believe code is 2" in most areas.
I dont think a p trap is allowed either.
Use a LA or hard trap.
We call these LA traps and what is installed for most showers.

Hard trap. This is how I pipe my showers. Dont want no leaking issues.
