Grinder Pump Vent
My grinder pump vent is freezing up. When that happens the pump will turn on suck all the water from the main floor bath first then work on the kitchen. Once the traps are dry the smell starts. Did the plumber do the installation wrong or is the vent freeze up normal. What can I do to fix the problem.?

The grinder vent should have nothing to do with your other vents. Example the kitchen should have its own vent to prevent the water from siphoning out. Are you verifying the traps are getting sucked out? The grinder pump vent should be dry and not freeze anyway. The grinder vent only alows air in the tank when piping or vent the fumes in the tank when idle. Did he tie the vent to a sewer line ??
