hot water to 2 homes
I have a tankless water heater on the outside of my home(in florida).I also have a small in-law apartment about 30 feet from where my water heater is mounted.The in-law is only used part-time,can I tap into the heater and run a line to the apartment underground?Any help is apprieciated.

I don't know if code allows it but I cannot imagine why it would not be permitted. They make insulated piping. It's used for remote boilers and geothermal heat pump systems. Try searching online for "insulated PEX".

Isn't is cheaper to get an electric tankless water heater for this in-law suite? I believe they called point of use or on-demand water heaters.
