Sink only drains with garbage disposal on.
I got a problem getting the kitchen sink to drain.
Right now it will drain with the garbage disposal turned on...
What I have done so far...
Anyone have any ideas what can be wrong?
Thanks
Right now it will drain with the garbage disposal turned on...
- When the disposal is turned off it bubbles up water till there is about half an inch of water in the sink.
- When the disposal is on I can put a lot more water though then bubbles back up, so I figure it must be getting through.
What I have done so far...
- Tried some liquid drain clog remover with no results.
- Removed the S or J pipe, bypassing the garbage disposal, and ran a 25 foot snake all the way in.
Anyone have any ideas what can be wrong?
Thanks

Update..
I disconnected the garbage disposal pipe connection out the bottom.
Water from the sink runs out of the garbage disposal pipe at about the same rate in flows into the sink.
Tested with both disposal on and off with same result.

Your kichen wasteline is clogged. Drain clearing is not very diy friendly but it can be done. If you dont have a cleanout on the outside or accesible under the house, that can be opened without breaking anything, you will need to run a snake through the piece coming out of the wall. Machines can be rented. Get one with a 3/8" cable, 1/2" is too big unless running trough a cleanout. Wear gloves and be careful. You may want to call around for a rooter guy. You should be able to get it cleared for under 100 bucks
