Exclamation

I was just informed by my husband that he took the hose from the inlet on the floor to the toilet off, turned on the water and nothing came out. The water should of shot out of the hole and nothing came out. So the problem is somewhere in the line from where it comes out in the floor down to wherever it goes, main water line maybe? Help, how do we find out what's wrong, how do we fix it?

Is every other fixture in your house working fine? Any chance you have a frozen pipe?

I would say yer gonna have to trace the line back under the house to see if theres another fitting you can loosen to see if you get water there. If youve got water everywhere else in the house then it appears either the copper line to the toilet got crimped{unlikely that its crimped to where no water at all will come out} or its frozen. Does it go near an open vent in the crawlspace or next to an outside wall?

I just read your other post. Do as halfwet says. When you find the most likely spot where the pipe froze, you'll need to warm up the area. Perhaps you can use a hairdryer. Perhaps you can use a space heater. Do not use any intense heat like a torch.

Let us know how it comes out.

I don't know if I'm doing this right or not, new to this posting stuff, but anyhow. My house sits on a concrete slab, the bathroom however is on a raised floor, I'm thinking to run water lines and such, some are in the walls too I think. Anyhow, there is no way for me to follow the line to see where it goes without tearing up the floor. However, the is a small room off of my bathroom that has my water heater, electric box and the main water line in it. There is no heat in that room, gets very cold in there. You have to step down to get in the room, would there be a hose, pipe or whatever coming off the main line, going behind that step, going to the toilet that could of froze? The toliet is only like 4 feet or so from the main line. Maybe warm up the room and in turn it will thaw out the hose going to the toilet?

Leave the door to that cold room open and put a space heater in there. If you don't have a space heater, buy one. Get the room nice and warm. Good luck and let us know.

Cool

It would also pay you to insulate the water heater, the pipes, and the room (if it isn't already).
Good Luck!
