Sink trap

Will it hurt to have 2 "P" traps on my kitchen sink? I am doing some remodeling of a basement and the Ptrap for the shower is the same trap that the sink uses. I am planning to remove the shower and install a new sink. The trap is actually halfway into the floor. I was thinking a adding another trap under the sink incase the wife drops her ring down the drian. Would this cause a problem?

I'm not a plumber, but nope...I wouldn't think so, as long as you have easy access to both for clean-out if you have a clog.
Maybe the pros in here have a different opinion.
Good Luck!
