Front Loading washing machine, water smell

I have a Samsung front loading washing machine. This is the 2nd year I have owned it. I regularly clean out the filter, but lately while the clothes are being washed there is really bad funky smell that comes out of it. What is the best thing to clean the inside of it with?

Run a cycle with a little bleach and no clothes - let us know if that makes a difference

Yes mitch17 is correct. If you look in your manual it will tell you the procedure. Also you need to clean the rubber seal.

Now this is if its the washer and not a drain/sewer issue.

How much bleach do I use and do I run it with cold or warm water?

The book only says use a cleaner safe for high efficiency washing machine. How do I clean that rubber seal?

I also found this: How to Clean a Front Loading Washing Machine | eHow.com

I looked behind the rubber seal and there is gunk back there but it doesn't smell. What's the most effective way to get that gunk out of there because the space is tight behind the gunk?

Is says in the instructions to mix bleach and water in a bucket and use a rag dipped in the solution to clean the seal. Also run the unit on hot with no clothes and a cup of bleach in the bleach dispenser.

You need to tuck your fingers under the seal to clean good.

Also when your done with laundry leave the door ajar 3 ". It helps air it out.

Have you read your manual? If you do not have one go to Samsung.com and download one.
