Dishwasher venting
Hello!
I bought a soap dispenser and was told by the man at the home improvement store that it could be put in the dishwasher vent hole and the dishwasher vent line could be mounted to the inside of the cabinet. My husband thinks this is fishy. What do the experts think?

I'm not even sure what you mean....
"dishwasher vent hole", "dishwasher vent line"??
Maybe you could tell us what you bought? Don't all DWs already have soap dispensers?
This might be better in the appliance section...but go ahead and give us more info first...

The old vent lines (vacuum breaker) are not needed anymore. You can remove and tie the two ends of the hoses that go to it together. Or run directly from the washer to the tailpiece.
I would think he is talking about the old vacuum breakers.

Ahhh...vacuum breakers and drain lines...now I get it! Never thought of them as vents....
Depends on local codes I think...IIRC CA still requires the sink top vacuum breaker
