Bathroom sink shut off valve

When I turn off my hot water shut off valve under the bathroom sink, water continues to run from faucet. What do I need to do replace faucets?

Hi.

You need to replace that shut off valve. Or shut the main water or HWH valve off to repair faucet.

Seems like shutting off the water prior to that valve is needed and, as Mike said, I'd replace the shut off valve while I was at it.

Be sure you turn off both the hot and cold water. If the washers are old in the faucet, the cold water may still be coming through even though the handle is set to hot.

(depends on the faucet of course)
