I have a problem with my upper thermostat tripping after about 12 hours. I replaced it with a new one and still having the same problem. Should I replace upper heating element? Please help!

Cool

The element could be the problem.
Turn off power, disconnect element wires, and check it for continuity with an ohm meter.
It is possible to get a false reading this way, but replace the element if you have any question about it.
Good Luck.

You need to replace both upper and lower stats, not just the upper stat, water is getting to hot and causing the stat to trip. Lower stat could be the cause, replace it and see if that solves the problem.
