Shower faucet valve problem
I have a single handle Price Pfister shower faucet, about ten years hold. It has started malfunctioning: After handle is positioned so that water seems to be at desired temperature, the water then will intermittently run very hot or cold, even though handle is not moved. I am wondering if there is a fix for this issue? For example can the valve (inside the wall) be replaced or repaired without having to replace the handle and trim, or is it time to get an entirely new unit (valve body, handle, trim, etc.)?
Thank you.
Thank you.

sounds like just the cartridge needs to be replaced. You can retain all handles and trim.
Its a Avanti cartridge. You can get at the home store I am pretty sure.
Here is an example.
