Question water quality

My domestic water seems "sticky". After rinising off vegetables or whatever in my kitchen sink, my fingers sometimes seem sticky. Or in the shower. What could cause this? The town has town wells and uses chlorine.

Sounds like you have hard water. Do you have a softener?

Yes, I have hardwater. And no softner. How does that cause sticky hands? What's the "sticky" stuff?

I dunno about in the shower, but veggie producers do sometimes apply a very light waxy coating to preserve the veggies sitting on the shelf. I notice it mostly on cukes...

The stickiness you feel is just the minerals that is left behind. This is also why some people say that softened water feels slimy because they do not feel that stickiness.
