Replace Water shut-off valve

In my house, the shut-off valve (the valve after the meter) for the water is leaking. When I replace this valve do I need to shut off the boiler? My domestic hot water runs through my boiler, there is no hot water storage tank? Or can I simply turn off the shut-off valve before the meter and drain all the lines to the sinks/fixtures?

Just shut off the main water supply and the make-up water to the heating system. The domestic hot water is via a coil inside the boiler so no water exchange between the domestic and the heating system takes place. Be sure to open the make-up water to the heating system when you are finished.
