Question

We have a six yr old home and hardly ever use the shower/tub in the upstairs hall. I run the water about once a month just to rinse any dust off of the tub...Last night I went in and turned on the moen faucet and as I turn the faucet counter-clockwise nothing comes out initially and then I start getting hot water - no cold at all - the water works fine in the toilet and sink in the bathroom - I just cannot get the cold water out of the shower/tub??? It has worked fine before and the faucet has not been replaced or anything - I am stumped as to what the problem could be?

You need to replace the Moen cartridge. There is a recent, long disertation on how to do this, in this forum within the past week. Check it out, and if you have questions, post back.

Good Luck,

Rick

Thanks for the help - I am going to try calling them because of all the faucets in the house, that one was used very little - it should be the last one to need something replaced - I am not much of a do-it-yourselfer - I read the responses to others trying to replace the moen cartridge and it has me a little scared to tackle it...but I will try! thanks for the help!
