Gas line sizing?

I need to run a natural gas line from my meter to the back of my house to install a dryer. The total length of the run will be 90 feet. What size of pipe do I need to put in?
Please disregard, I have found the answer by surfing the web.

Hi,

How many BTU is the dryer?

@ 90 ft

1/4 = 10k btu
3/8 = 22 k btu
1/2 = 40 k btu

Should not be more then 38K.

But possibly you want to add to it like a grill.

@ 90 ft

3/4 = 84k btu
1 = 160k btu

Hope this helps.

dry is 20,000 btu. What I found on the web says to use 1/2" for a 90ft. run. 3/8" would be a lot lighter to run. I am planning on exterior run just below the overhang on stucco siding.

Thanks for your reply.

Did you account for the effective length of all the fittings AND for any other usage off of this piping?

As Furd suggests you should run 1/2".

This will be a dedicated run from the meter to the dryer. Nothing else will be attached.
