PEX Help Please

I have never used pex. Can I use standard hose clamps on pex tubing? If not, should I use the clamp or crimp method? Thanks

Or clamped. I have not been able to find out if one method is better than the other.

However, hose clamps would be a no no.

That is a big no on the hose clamp. I use the crimp on copper rings (they are colored black though) mainly because they are more commonly available in my area.

I'm still a PEX novice, but the crimp rings are a piece of cake to use. Be sure to get a go/no-go gauge and test your crimps occasionally to ensure the crimper is still within spec.

If you only have one or two connections to install, either borrow a crimper or use SharkBite/GatorBite fittings. If you're going to be plumbing for a while though, the crimper is certainly worth purchasing.
