Replaced Toilet Innards, Now a Leak! http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.d
I had a non functioning fill valve so I went ahead and got the fluidmaster 400AK all in one kit and replaced everything. All went fine until I flushed for the first time and flooded the bathroom. The leak is coming from under the tank. I disassembled and retightened the the locknut of the flush valve, placed the gasket back on and reseated the tank. I tightened the bolts with washer placement as instructed. I tightened the bolts, I loosened the bolts...still it continued to leak. I repeated the above steps with no good results. I spent all day on this and still do not have a working toilet!
I used to go to this forum all of the time. I am happy to find it is still here!

I am correctly understanding that the leak only occurs when you flush the toilet? If so the problem is the big rubber washer between the tank and bowl (but I suspect you already knew that). How well does the big rubber washer fit? Does it have a flange that should go up around the big nut that holds the flapper assembly to the tank? Is it snug to slide up onto the big female threads or is it loose and want to fall off? Sometimes the Fluidmaster universal kit is not as universal as they would like. Don't be afraid to go buy another gasket.

Thanks for your reply. Yes to all regarding the big rubber gasket, it fits snugly. However, I am wondering now if it extends too far down as the drain hole is rather shallow. This might be causing too much pressure when it is flushed. Hmm.. time to remove the tank again.
