I have a duel handle bathroom faucet cartridge type that doesn't have a stop position. If the faucet is off you can turn the knobs clockwise or counterclockwise to turn the water on and then you can just keep spinning them and eventually you get to the off spot but then you can keep turning and turn the water back on.

Is it possible for a faucet to not have a stop position?
What can I do with this faucet so it has a stop at the off position?

Thanks in advance.

Is this occuring on just one handle, or on both? I would take one of the stems out and take it to a plumbing supply or one of the big box stores and get replacement stems. Sounds like the stops on one or both of the stems (as the case may be) have broken or been taken off.

Sounds like a Moen duel handle faucet!
The stops are built into the handles.
the cartridge uses disk technology to slide a teardrop shaped opening over a fixed inlet.
There's a "tab" built into the handle to set the stop.

Either it's the stem or the handles, even I can not tell the sytle of this faucet in question, yes moen has stops in the handles, but this does not mean that the faucet is moen.

It could be a number of different brands of washerless faucets out there.
