Cool

How can I tell if I have a plugged screen or a bad water pump. I have a private well and the pump motor constantly runs and will only provide about 28psi of water pressure.I have also noticed a dingy water color. Please help.

Cool

There could be several things wrong with your water well system, but the first thing that I would check would be the pressure tank.
Use a tire air gauge and test the air pressure at the fitting at the top of the pressure tank. It should read about 30 lbs, which should be about the pump cut-on pressure.
Sometimes the pressure tanks just get "water-logged" over time, and you just need to add air to the tank with a bicycle pump, portable air tank or compressor.
If the tank won't hold this pressure, then you will need to replace it.
If this doesn't solve your problem, come back in here, and we'll try to help you through some other things.
Good Luck!
Mike
