Question

Why is the smell of sewer gas so strong on the 1st floor? I live in a 3 level townhouse. The utility closet on the 1st floor has a "p-hole"(?). Since November, the smell of sewage has been terrible, and off-and-on. I had the "p-hole" rodded in December, but the smell has not gone away. There is also a grease trap, but I cleaned it in December as well. Any ideas?

Cool

Pour a bucket of water in the "p-hole" to fill the trap to prevent sewer gas from seeping in. (I hope that it has a trap.) Do it regularly or whenever you get a whiff of sewer gas.
Good Luck!
