Vent pipe leaking at elbow joint
I have a black pipe that goes through my attic space and out to the roof. I think this is a vent pipe. When it rains, it leaks and is creating a water spot on my ceiling. The picture I took looks like it's leaking at the elbow joint, as opposed to coming in from the roof.
Any suggestions about how to fix it? Any simple putty or sealant I can put around that joint, without taking anything apart? There is not lot of room in the attic space for working.

Unless there is some restriction in that pipe, I do not see how water pressure would be enough to get through the pipe to leak there. Are you sure it isn't leaking at the roof line and running down to drip at the elbow?

As Michael was alluding to, it is most likely a torn rubber roof boot. Get up there and examine the rubber around the base of the pipe. I would almost guarantee it's split or torn.
