compression fitting alternative
I just moved into a new construction home and less than one month in we had a plastic pipe burst out of the brass compression fitting. Thank god we were home and caught it early before any damage was done. Now I have a great fear about it happening again. Is there anything I can do for added security on these fittings or is there a better and more reliable alternative I should invest in?

Those are splice fittings in the line. I'm guessing this pic is just to show us the type of pipe and fittings.... it's not behind the sink.
Did they run this same gray pipe right to the sink with no valves ?

Take the compression fittings off and see if there is a metal ferrule on the pipe. If so, that is the problem. You cannot use a metal ferrule on plastic pipe. You will need to cut back the pipe below the current crimping and install plastic/nylon ferrules and reassemble it all. You should be fine at that point.

In addition to nylon ferrules you need to use a brass bushing inserted into the pipe otherwise the ferrule has nothing to compress against and can come apart under pressure.
