Question Caping a 'Tee" off a Pex line

What is a good method of capping a Pex line?

Background info:
Last year a local plumber to copper re-pipe my house. The job included Pex line. Given that my main water line to my back yard garden was not operable and I did want the plumber to fix the water line to my garden, he was required by my city to install an operable hose bib that he teed into one of the Pex water lines for indoor water supply.

I wanted to remove this hose bib by capping this branch of the Pex. I was instructed by my this plumber to use a Shark Bite. My local store did not carry this so installed a copper Push-Fit.

The line that I capped has a slow leak.

Does someone have a better solution?

It sounds as if you used something similar to a shark bite. Turn the water off, relieve the pressure via a faucet and push the fitting more securely onto the pex. It is possible you don't have it seated properly.
