Question wireless shutoff of main water valve

The main water pipe into my house is in the basement at the far corner. If I see a foot or two of water in my basement from the top of the stairs, I'd like a way to shut off the water from the top of the stairs.

I see the following one brand of a wireless shut-off valve that can go anywhere in the house. I assume it is reliable. Any thoughts or other ideas or brands?

I don't really understand, you're saying if there's a major leak, you want to be able to shut the water off manually?

If you're worried about a leak, I'd look into an automatic shut-off. Or maybe upgrading your plumbing to make it significantly less likely. In a properly plumbed house, there really shouldn't be too much of a chance of a serious leak.

A wireless water main shutoff valve is like closing the barn door after the horses got out.

If you are concerned about a major water leak you'd be better off getting an automatic system that shuts the water off before you get a flood. I have a similar system that I built in my house. It monitors the water heater, the clothes washer and the dishwasher. Water heater and clothes washer located in the basement.

This is a commercially available system that is similar.
