Cool Water meter

What's a good reasonably priced water meter.

1" or 3/4" would do.

In the country on a deep well. Want to know how much water I actually do use. Maybe looking for a water softener, so, the info would be useful.

Type the words water meter into the search box on Google. Lots of choices.

Cool

Yeah, did that already, didn't come up with much but larger commercial stuff.

My local Home Hardware has one for 150 bucks. was hoping to find some thing a bit cheaper.

I only want it for curiosity in my water consumption, not because I really need one.

Well Furd is a special guy but he did find you some cheap meters in his links. Can't hardly beat $15-$30.

It is a variation of an old story my daddy used to tell.

A guy walks up to a smoker and asks if he can bum a cigarette. The smoker shakes one out of his pack and offers it to the man. Next the guy asks if he can get a light. The smoker gets out his lighter and flicks it saying, "Do you also want me to suck on your a** for draft?"

I found three different places to buy residential sized water meters in less than a minute of Google time. Had I spent a couple of minutes I could have found ten different places.

Often Google advanced search is a better choice. You can even specify a price range.

Didn't see anything less than 55 bucks in those links (first link doesn't work BTW)

By the time you add on shipping and duties, that wouldn't be much cheaper than the local one.

Anyway, it's all moot now, I bought a Softener last night. Just got the smallest Clack I could find.

Thanks for your efforts.

First link works fine for me, it goes to Google Shopping. Least expensive meter was about $19 but it was for use on a garden hose. Maybe it has something to do with you being in Canada why the link doesn't work.

Could be, a lot of stuff doesn't work for us up here.

I'll start a new thread on the Softener, got lots of questions about that.

Works both ways. I wanted to download the Doc Zone series a couple of years ago on the financial meltdown but got the message that it could only be seen inside Canada. Strange since the cable company broadcast it in the US.
