Shower faucet cartridge identification

I've got a leaky shower head that I believe is due to a fault in the shower faucet (I took off the shower head and it was still leaking).

I'm trying to identify the kind of cartridge I have, but it looks really different from the videos/pictures I've seen on this site + google. Could anyone please help me identify the type I have?

Delta? What do the handles look like? Are there any markings on the brass valve?
You may have to pull the valve apart and see what the cartridge looks like.
Does the center shaft move in and out or turn?

Draining/venting a dishwasher, without a sink

I want to put in a dishwasher in an island where's the no sink. I've been reading about air gaps but if I don't have a sink or no outside wall nearby, an air gap seems wrong. I plan on running a 2 inch pvc pipe from the basement straight up into the cabinet beside the dishwasher so the top of the pvc pipe will be near the top of the dishwasher. I'll put a trap in too. I'll do a high loop with the dishwasher hose, and then connect it to the pvc pipe. The big question is, am I done? or do I still need something like an air gap or a AAV?Read More

Possible water hammer problem? Or valve?

Hello folks. What happens is that when I first turn the water on, cold or hot, I hear a single (usually) knock accompanied with a very brief loss of water flow. I'm pretty sure that I don't hear the knock when I turn the faucet off. This occurs whether the PRV is set to around 40psi, or 50-55psi. My house is a little more than a year old, and plummed with PEX piping. The problem is isolated to my kitchen faucet. The faucet is a single handled faucet, with a side sprayer. Oh, and I feel the knock at the faucet and the sprayer. Could this be a problem with the valve? Or should I look at installing a water hammer arrestor? Thanks.Read More
