garbage disposal layout - does this look right?

Hi everyone,
after a garbage disposal failure I am replacing the unit but am not sure the plumbing is right. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks everyone, and happy holidays!

No expert, but if that orange thing is an extension cord and the garbage disposal is plugged into it, I'm not sure that's allowed by code.

Could be wrong.

He asked about the plumbing not the electric.

Yes I did notice that, but seems to me it would be morally wrong to not point out a safety problem that someone might not be aware of especially electrical.

That tee that connects the GD and the other sink has a baffle in it I believe. Thats for a center waste and should be on the horizontal... Dont know until you take it apart... There are a few ways you can pipe that set up...

This is an actual side waste tee..

Center wast like this..

But if you have no baffle then that should be find... You may get splashing up in the other sink when disposal is run....

zoesdad,

Thanks for the info, the extension cord isn't being used for the GD, it's being used for other junk.

lawrosa,

We have always had problems of stuff coming up into the nonGD sink.
Do you think I should switch the GD over to the right side since my drain is pointing over to the left?
Sorry, I'm really confused. I'm pretty sure the T had a baffle but still has issues shooting stuff over to the other side.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The baffle is the wrong orientation... The tee is meant to be on a horizontal.
