copper water line with mV

I found recently my copper water supply piping throughout my house was not grounded. I have a well so my incomming piping is plastic, but it is copper throughout the hose. Therefore it is required to ge grounded. before bonding it, I checked and had about 200mV AC on it. Once I bonded everything, the mV want to about 8. So my question is, is mV on copper piping normal? I am concerned about the voltage causing my copper pipes to corrode and get pinhole leaks. My background is electrical which is how I know the copper lines needed bonded, but what I don't know is the plumbing side and what is typically seen.

What did you measure between to get your readings? How and where did you bond it? What size wire did you use?
