Saddle Valve Leaking

Hi everyone,

I recently installed a new humidifier in place of an old broken one. When I turned the saddle valve from the water supply I noticed that it was leaking pretty badly.

Im completely novice when it comes to plumbing....can someone please tell me this is an easy fix? If not, can you lie.......or at least point me in the right direction to repair this?

Thanks!

Rob

Those things leak or clog up at some point and are not even allowed by code in some places.
Can you post a picture?
Really need to cut the pipe and install a real stop. (shutoff)

where was it leaking from? The picture does not show any drops. you may be able to tighten down the nut that the stem/shaft goes through.

As close as it is to the soldered joint...not sure a SB would seal.

Wow...I really am a lot more novice than I thought. I tightened the nut where the stem went through and no more leaking. Thanks for your help!
