Copper pipe

I am slowly re-piping my Hot Water lines . Old lines buried in the dirt , under the house ( pier & beam ) .

I am insulating the new HW lines , as I go .

One line is the 1/2" HW going to the kitchen sink . I have some 1/2" soft refrigeration copper left over from this last summer . Installed a ductless mini split .

Any reason not to solder this soft copper on to the 1/2" hard copper line ? Any reason not to mis soft copper & hard copper ?

Thanks ,
Wyr
God bless

I have on a couple rare occasions sweated soft and rigid copper together with no apparent problems. Just be very patient in cutting the soft because it is very easy to deform with a tubing cutter.

And use a tubing cutter with a sharp cutter wheel . Tighten the cutter wheel down just a tad at a time & then go through several revolutions before you tighten things down again .
